How to locate "temporary internet files" (firefox cache files) in Ubuntu:

Go to Places > Home folder

Now press Ctrl + H, this will make all the hidden files visible.

The firefox cache files are located in /home/"your user name"/.mozilla/firefox/"something".default/Cache/
